Lori Nay
Lori Nay, Mayor of Gunnison City, co-founder/director of the Casino Star Theatre Foundation, office manager for Dr. Richard Nay’s medical practice, and mother of five wonderful children.
Lori Nay feels honored to serve as a board member for the Anne Stirba Cancer Foundation. Her favorite adage has special meaning when applied to the Foundation — “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Lori is proud to serve with this intelligent and inspired group of individuals committed to supporting cancer research and believes the Foundation’s valiant efforts can make a real difference in conquering cancer.
Lori brings with her many years of experience in community service. In 2004, she formed a non-profit foundation with her good friend and purchased the Historic Casino Star Theatre in Gunnison. The Casino Star Theatre Foundation is dedicated to the restoration of this nationally recognized historic landmark, built in 1912, and its continued use as a center for wholesome entertainment with first run movies, concerts, and arts programming.
Lori has been a Council Woman for Gunnison City since 2002 and was elected Mayor in 2009. During her years in the council, she was instrumental in securing $2.8 million in grants for the City. Her experience in working in city government has affirmed her belief that anything is possible when people come together and share a common goal.
