History of the Judgesrun 5K
In 1997 some avid runners at the Wasatch Presbyterian Church started the Judgesrun 5K. Now affiliated with the Anne Stirba Cancer Foundation (formerly known as the Judgesrun Foundation), this Race has evolved into a memorial event for The Honorable Anne Stirba, who was a judge in the Third District Court in Salt Lake City.
The Judgesrun is a USATF-certified 5K race, and is the premier road race in Utah.
The sole purpose of the Judgesrun (and all the Anne Stirba Cancer Foundation events) is to raise money for breast cancer research at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah. Huntsman is doing some groundbreaking and innovative research on targeted breast cancer treatments that are very promising.
100-percent of the registration proceeds are directly to the Huntsman Cancer Institute. If you have questions or are interested in becoming a sponsor of the event, please contact the Foundation office at 801-428-0684.
